Today, the iPhone 14 review is the most discussed topic in the tech industry. As a long-time iPhone user, I am happy to share my review of the iPhone 14. This blog will discuss the iPhone 14 features and compare them with old models like iPhone 13. So keep reading my blog to learn about the iPhone 14 review.
Apple Company manufactured, designed, and sold the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 pro smartphones. They belong to the sixteenth generation of iPhones. iPhone 14 was released on September 2022 in Australia and in same month during an event at Apple Park in Cupertino, California it was released for USA people.
Before its release, there were rumors that the iPhone 14 would be available with a 6.1-inch or 5.4-inch display. However, when it was released, it showed that no smaller options were available. After its release, Apple took pre-orders on September 9 and was available at stores on September 16, 2022.
iPhone 14 vs 13 Design, color and Resemblance
The iPhone 14 design looks and resembles the iPhone 13 from last year. I usually use the larger Pro models, so I like how much lighter the 6-ounce iPhone 14 is. It is a phone that is comfortable to hold and use.
Although the iPhone 14 Pro is less solid and durable than the stainless steel model, it doesn’t look cheap. While people who want something bigger can choose the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus, the 6.1-inch iPhone 14’s frame was ideal for my hands and kept me comfortable over long hours of social media scrolling.
There are 11 colors available in the iPhone 14 and 14 pro: blue, starlight, black, white, yellow, midnight, silver, green, purple, and red. Purple is a new edition and replaced with pink used on iPhone 13. I like the blue model that I have used. According to your choice, you can pick yours.
The upgraded iPhone 14 camera
The upgraded iPhone 14 camera has dual-lens systems and improved by a new piece of software magic known as the Photonic Engine. I’ll keep it short and sweet rather than overwhelm you with every specification.
Two cameras are included in the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro. One front-facing (12MP f/1.9) and two back-facing wide (12MP f/1.5) and ultra-wide (12MP f/2.4) cameras, for the first time, the front-facing camera also has an autofocus feature.
This is built to take broader, more detailed pictures, deliver significantly better low-light photography, and even automatically stable shaky films. It has the same f/1.5 aperture and 12MP rear sensor as the iPhone 13 Pro, making it even more powerful and faster than the iPhone 13. I was impressed by the iPhone 14’s outstanding low-light performance, which captures more details than any other phone.
Hardware
It has three storage options, including 128 GB, 512 GB, and 256 GB. They have a RAM capacity of 6 GB, which is larger than the iPhone 13. The iPhone 14 predecessors have an IP68 designation for dust and water resistance.
Chipset
The Apple A15 Bionic system powers the chipset of the iPhone 14 on a chip, which is the same variable used in the 2021 iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 and 14 Max have a 6-core CPU, a 5-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
Display
The display of the iPhone 14 is designed to provide an immersive visual experience. It has a Super Retina XDR OLED screen that is 6.1 inches (155 mm) in size. It produces clear, detailed photos with a 2532 x 1170 pixels resolution. The approximately 460 PPI pixel density ensures the displayed content is clear and vibrant.
The larger 6.7-inch (170 mm) screen on the iPhone 14 max, which also has Super Retina XDR OLED technology, enhances the visual experience. It offers even more clarity and detail because of its larger resolution of, 2778 to 1284 pixels. The graphics are clear and vibrant due to the approximately 458 PPI pixel density. The iPhone 14 provides a brightness of up to 800 nits and a maximum brightness of up to 1200 nits.
Battery
Compared to the iPhone 13, the iPhone 14 has a long-lasting battery. According to the manufacturers, the 3,279 mAh battery in the iPhone 14 enables it to provide longer usage times. For instance, it can offer 20 hours of video playback, 16 hours of video playback, and 80 hours of audio playback.
The iPhone 13, on the other side, offers significantly lesser durations due to its 3,240 mAh battery, with ratings of 19 hours for video playback, 15 hours for streaming video playback, and 75 hours for audio playback.
Apple still needs to change charging; no charger is included with the iPhone 14. But you can use Qi wireless charging of up to 7.5W, wired charging of up to 25W via the Lightning port, and MagSafe charger cable charging speeds of up to 15W, my favorite charging mode.
Let me share my experience using the iPhone 14. I often watch YouTube videos for an hour, play Call of Duty Mobile for 30 minutes, and use other apps, including Twitter, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Safari, Apple Music, and more throughout the day. The iPhone 14 amazingly retains about 25% battery life even after being used thoroughly for more than 14 hours, with a screen-on time of about 5.5 hours.
iPhone 14 vs. 13 Price
For the base iPhone 14 model with 128 GB of storage, the iPhone 14 starts at £849 in the UK, $799 in the United States, and AU$1,399 in Australia. The 256 GB type, which costs $899 in the US, £959 in the UK, and AU$1,579 in Australia. A 512 GB version, on the other hand, costs $1,099 in the US, £1,179 in the UK, and AU$1,899 in Australia. Remember this, if you will compare the prices, storage, configurations it will be totally different from the iPhone 13.
Safety Features
Crash Detection and Emergency SOS are two of the most important updates to the iPhone 14 series, and both can potentially save lives in a crisis.
Conclusion
If you need my opinion, after this iPhone 14 review reading, which phone is better for you iPhone 14 or iPhone 13, it will depend on your budget, go with the $699 iPhone 13 if you want to spend less, and if you want more safety features and have good budget, the iPhone 14 is worth buying to feel the difference.
